KOZHIKODE: Bharat Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) president and
NDA candidate in Wayanad constituency Thushar Vellappally filed his nomination papers on Wednesday.
Speaking to mediapersons, Thushar said Prime Minister
Narendra Modi and
BJP president
Amit Shah would come to Wayanad to campaign for him. Thushar was accompanied by BJP state president P S Sreedharan Pillai.
He said Congress president Rahul Gandhi was contesting from Wayanad with the hope that there would be a consolidation of minority votes in his favour and added that it was not going to happen.
Thursday is the last day for filing nominations for contesting in Kerala. Till date 154 nominations have been received for 20 Lok Sabha seats. Other prominent leaders who filed their nominations on Wednesday include K N Balagopal of CPM in Kollam, K Sudhakaran of Congress in Kannur and Rajmohan Unnithan of Congress in Kasaragod. Solar scam accused Sarita S Nair also filed nomination on Wednesday for contesting from Ernakulam.
