Elaborating on details of the cards issued by the officials, Prakash said the Election Commission should ensure that the votes of t h e s e people are challenged and that criminal charges slapped on them for keeping more than one ID card.
Prakash presented the entire list of the voters who received more than one voter ID card before the EC and the district collector.
He said the voters’ list would not have been manipulated without the connivance of booth-level officers involved in the inclusion and deletion of voters. He demanded a probe into the incident.
A few persons have received three identity cards in different booths. The aim is to rig the voting. We found that fake documents were produced to get the different IDs. It is a criminal offence, Prakash said.
He said UDF booth agents have seen the list and they will challenge all the votes made by these voters.
Chief electoral officer Teeka Ram Meena said he has received the complaint and the commission was looking into it seriously.
