THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Women's Commission has taken suo motu cognisance against UDF candidate from Kannur K Sudhakaran for his campaign video for its misogynistic and sexist overtones.
The video, which was posted on the official Facebook page of Sudhakaran, received widespread criticism.

Women’s commission chairperson MC Josephine directed the commission to take up the case based on media reports.

The video, posted on the Facebook on Monday, has over 1 lakh views so far. The video stated that the story or its characters have no similarity to real life incidents or persons or ‘someone who spoke in Parliament’.
Trying to make a dig at sitting MP P K Sreemati, the video said that ‘making her a teacher was a futile act’.
The video shows a man complaining that his daughter, a teacher, failed in getting their share of ancestral property. It ends by saying that only ‘he’ could achieve that.
