IUML not devoid of communalism: M A Baby
KOZHIKODE
:IUML
was like ‘common cold’, not dangerous but still a problem not be ignored, said CPM politburo member M A Baby.Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, he said Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath terming IUML a virus was ‘political vulgarity.’ However, he said the League could spell trouble insinuating that party was not devoid of communalism. “Jawaharlal Nehru had called IUML a dead horse. Rahul Gandhi, who is contesting the
Lok Sabha
elections with the support of the IUML, should not forget that,” he said.On why the CPM is contesting limited number of seats, Baby said it showed the commitment of the Left party towards strengthening the anti-fascist forces. “We do not want the anti-BJP votes to be scattered,” he said.
On CPM being part of the proposed secular government to be formed after the elections, he said that depended on the structure of the Lok Sabha after the polls. “The central committee of the party will discuss the concrete situation at that time and arrive at a decision,” Baby said.
