AAP, JNND to contest from Lohardaga, Khunti seats

GUMLA: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Jharkhand Nav Nirman Dal (JNND) are likely to field a joint candidate from Lohardaga parliamentary seat, reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates, party sources said on Tuesday. Three candidates who are in the fray, include Ram Narayan Bhagat, a patron of JNND and youngest son of former Bihar education minister Karamchand Bhagat, Anand Paul Tirkey, an engineer by profession and the convener of AAP in Gumla and Binod Kherwar, AAP’s Lohardaga in-charge. “We considering three names for Lohardaga and a decision will be taken soon,” JNND convener Vijay Kumar Singh said.


Party sources said AAP and JNND are likely to field a candidate from Khunti, too. “We have finalised the name of our senior leader, Maheshwar Kherwar, who will contest from Khunti seat.”
