In Himachal Pradesh, teams leave for remote areas

: With just a day to go before

Himachal Pradesh

votes to elect its

Lok Sabha

representatives, the state is all geared up to conduct a peaceful poll, said state’s chief electoral officer (CEO) Devesh Kumar. The EC has already sent polling parties to the polling stations that can be reached only on foot, to conduct voting on May 19, he said.


Kumar said seven polling parties are deployed for seven polling booths set up in Dodra Kwar area. Of these, four parties have reached Kittarwadi, Gandarwadi, Dodra and Pujarli polling stations, while remaining three would reach their polling stations at Jakha, Jiskoon and Pandar on Friday, he said. The polling party to Bara-Bhangal in Kangra was supposed to be air lifted, but had to go by road as helicopter service was unavailable.
