: Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur said on Wednesday that despite ruling the country for many decades, the Congress party completely failed on the development front and looted the country through scandals involving crores of rupees.

He added it was after the formation of
Narendra Modi government
that people actually realised that nation was treading ahead on the path of development without any discrimination.
He was addressing a public meeting at Ani in Kullu district in favour of BJP candidate from
Mandi Lok Sabha constituency
Ram Swaroop Sharma on Wednesday.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the Congress party has nothing to do with the interests of nation but for the sake of getting power, it can go to any limit including compromising with the national security which is quite clear from its election manifesto. However, the people are wise enough and they know which party can provide a strong leadership.
He said that said that Modi government has started various welfare schemes which have benefited every section of the society and enabling people to live with self-respect and dignity.
Referring to the development of
Himachal Pradesh
in the present state government's tenure, he said that various welfare schemes have been initiated and in the coming years, the state would emerge as a role model where everyone will have equal opportunities for development.
He said that state government's policies and programmes are focused on socio-economic uplift of the common man and it is a matter of great contentment that these policies and programmes have started to show positive results.
He said that the people of India have decided to give command of the country to a strong leadership and completely repudiate the forced coalition of the opposition parties in this Lok Sabha election.
Later, he addressed another election rally at Janjehli in Seraj constituency of Mandi district which was followed by a road show and was participated by thousands of people.
