Haryana: Ashok Tanwar seeks repoll over video of sarpanch giving vote count

wrote a complaint to the district returning officer and election supervisor on Tuesday, alleging that the sarpanch of Mangala village in Rania assembly constituency violated the Model Code of Conduct.


Tanwar demanded re-polling in the entire village and the sarpanch’s suspension. Tanwar said the complaint that a

video

of the sarpanch had gone viral on social media, in which he was seen giving a count of electors who vote for BJP candidate Sunita Duggal. “This is a directl violation of the Model Code of Conduct,” she said.

He also demanded that the sarpanch be barred from even constesing panchayat elections in future.

Tanwar also demanded re-polling in Pipali village and several booths of Sirsa city.

Sirsa district

returning officer and deputy commissioner Prabhjot Singh has issued a show-cause notice to Raj Kumar Nath, sarpanch of Mangala village for violating the Model Code of Conduct.
