YAMUNANAGAR: Congress national president
Rahul Gandhi would be sounding poll bugle in Haryana by addressing a public gathering in Jagadhri of Yamunanagar on March 29, confirmed former Congress minister Nirmal Singh from Ambala Cantonment.
Sources confirmed that the route of the
Parivartan Yatra has been diverted. Rahul Gandhi would be coming to Jagadhri in Yamunanagar via a chopper from where he would be going with the rally up to Karnal, via Radaur and Indri.
The sources told a couple of days ago that the state unit of Congress had requested its party president to address gathering in Haryana and he has formally given his consent on Wednesday for a rally at Jagadhri on March 29.
The source said, “Rahul Gandhi would address a public gathering at Jagadhri town in Yamunanagar on March 29 at around 11.00 am. Following he would take part in a roadshow starting from Jagadhri via Yamunanagar to Karnal. In the midway, he along with Haryana senior leaders, Haryana in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad would interact with the workers and address small gatherings at Ladwa, Indri and Karnal.”
The Congress had started its six days “Parivartan Yatra” from Gurugram on Tuesday and with the announcement of Rahul Gandhi’s public rally in Jagadhri, the route of the rally was diverted to Jagadhri from Kurukshetra. Besides, all the scheduled events related to rally were cancelled in Ambala district.
Former municipal councilor and Ambala City Congress leader Himmat Singh told, “Earlier, the Rahul Ji was supposed to come to Naraingarh for addressing the gathering but as per the recent rescheduling his Ambala tour has been cancelled and he would be coming to Jagadhri in Yamunanagar. A large number of party workers and the public is expected to come at the event on March 29.”
