In Haryana, BJP nominees most educated, INLD least ones
HISAR: Although major parties fighting for 10 Lok Sabha seats of Haryana have been making news for reasons like split, delayed alliances and leaders’ affection for their son, there seems to be bright side to it all if one looks at the education of those who have been given tickets. This is especially encouraging given that Haryana had fought a legal battle in the Supreme Court to ensure that a minimum education criterion for civic bodies elections.
TOI analysed the education of 40 candidates of BJP, the Congress,
Six candidates from main parties are foreign degrees holder. The Congress has two of them and the rest one each. (see boxes). In BJP, there is no candidate with education below graduation. On the other hand, among INLD candidates, there are only three graduates.
BJP have five lawyers, one doctor (Rohtak candidate Arvind Sharma is a dentist), an overseas degree holder (Brijendra Singh from Hisar), and there are two graduates and one MSc in the rest.
Similarly, in the Congress, there are four advocates, one PhD, an MPhil, a graduate and one matriculate (Avtar Singh Bhadana from Faridabad).
JJP’s seven candidates include postgraduate from IIM Ahmedabad Mahmud Khan in Gurgaon, one lawyer, one graduate and two Class XII pass. AAP has fielded Naveen Jaihind from Sonepat who is PhD, one engineer and an MBA.

There are also two candidates with JNU degrees — BJP Hisar candidate Brijendra Singh and Congress Sirsa candidate Ashok Tanwar.Six candidates from main parties are foreign degrees holder.
