Haryana: LSP-BSP nominees likely tomorrow

CHANDIGARH: With Loktantra Suraksha Party (LSP) chief

and BSP leaders having an interaction with BSP supremo Mayawati on Saturday, the two alliance partners are likely to release their list of candidates on Tuesday.


Sources said Kurukshetra MP Saini, in his meeting with BSP supremo and other seniors, had discussed and reviewed the list of probable candidates.

LSP will declare candidates on two

Lok Sabha

seats and BSP will contest from eight. Since Saini has already announced Ramesh Rao Pilot as the candidate from Mahendergarh-Bhiwani constituency, Saini discussed the names of probables from Kurukshetra. Sources said Saini also expressed keenness on contesting from Sonipat and requested the BSP to swap the seat with Kurukshetra. Meanwhile, it is learnt that BSP and LSP could spring a surprises when it comes to candidates as leaders of other parties are in touch with them.

byelection in January, BSP had severed its alliance with INLD to forge a tie-up with LSP. According to sources privy to developments, LSP will contest from two Lok Sabha seats.

The BSP will contest from eight Lok Sabha seats and 35 assembly seats.

As of now, except for the 1996 parliamentary elections, BSP has not won any parliamentary seat in Haryana. Aman Kumar Nagra was the only exception in 1996, when INLD was in alliance with BSP.
