Haryana: BSP, LSP name six candidates

CHANDIGARH: The alliance of Loktantra Suraksha Party (LSP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Haryana announced its first list of six candidates for

Lok Sabha

polls on Tuesday. After the announcement, LSP supremo

Raj Kumar Saini

and BSP in-charge Megh Raj also launched the tie-up's campaign during a meeting with party workers in Rohtak.


The parties are yet to announce nominees from the remaining four Sirsa, Gurgaon, Sonipat and Kurukshetra constituencies. Saini is expected to contest from Sonipat."The names have been cleared by BSP supremo Mayawati. Now, it is up to the party workers to give a final push to our election campaign and ensure all candidates win,'' Saini said.

Citing t caste equations, Saini said the list showed the tie-up wanted to provide opportunities to all. The coalition has fielded Naresh Saran, a member of the SC community, from Amabla. He has been associated with BSP since 1984, and has handled responsibilities in the state and national unit of the party. He is said to have been instrumental in this alliance.

Pankaj Chaudhary, who comes from Rohr community, is the candidate from Karnal. Chaudhary is an industrialist-turned-businessman and has a good equation with farmers and members of his community, which has a sizeable presence in Karnal and

Panipat

.

A Mumbai-based business man, Kishan Lal Panchal, will be fielded from Rohtak seat against outgoing MP Deepender Hooda of Congress. Panchal has established businesses in Mumbai, New Delhi and Haryana. He comes from the Vishwakarma community, a backward class

LSP has picked Ramesh Rao Pilot, a writer and commercial pilot-turned-politician, from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh. His candidature was announced long ago and he has good influence on locals and backward classes in the constituency. He is likely to face Shruti Chouadhary of the Congress and Dharambir Bhale Ram of BJP. Mandhir Singh, who comes from an influential Jat family, has been fielded from Faridabad .

Surendra Sharma, a Brahmin, has been BSP's pick from Hisar. Saini said he and his party would fight for the rights of socially backward.
