CHANDIGARH:
Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar
on Monday dubbed the
election manifesto
unveiled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (
BJP) “Jumla Part –II.”
Jakhar said, “It is not a commitment by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah led party but actually it is their one more attempt to mislead and cheat the voters of country.”
He claimed that the BJP had formed a government in the year of 2014 with the same type of promises but the Narendra Modi-led government has failed to fulfill its promises during its five-year tenure and now the BJP has promised again on the same line but now the countrymen are well conscious to false promises made by BJP Leadership.
On the promises made by the BJP to the farmers in its election manifesto, Jakhar said that in its five-year tenure, the Modi led government had put huge burden on farmer by imposing GST on agriculture inputs while the same had failed to procure crops at MSP which was declared by same BJP government. In a scathing attack on Modi Government he said that Union government did not procured maize, cotton and mustered from state by its agencies at MSP.
He asked the BJP leaders that what is fun in announcing a MSP if the same is not provided to farmers. Terming the promise of boosting export of agricultural produce and commodities as a bunch of lies, he asked the BJP leaders to explain what Union government did to enhance the basmati export from Punjab, he said.
“Banks no longer open any new account now of the common man, how we can imagine that such banks will provide collateral free loan up to Rs 50 lakh without any bank grantee? Even the BJP government has not fulfilled the promise of 2 crore jobs every year, during the last five years,” he further added.
