Rahul Gandhi in Haryana, Congress leaders united

JAGADHARI: The Haryana Congress tried to put to rest charges of being a divided house during the party’s ‘Parivaratan Rally’ in Jagadhri town of

Yamunanagar

district on Friday. They appeared united in the presence of party chief Rahul Gandhi.

Even senior party leader and Adampur MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi, who was maintaining distance from the ‘Parivartan Bus Rally’ led by former chief minister (CM) Bhupinder Singh Hooda, was present at the event.

To convey the message of unity before Rahul, Haryana Congress president Ashok Tanwar gave credit to Haryana affairs incharge Ghulam Nabi Azad for uniting party leaders. “Nabi sahib ne puri Congress ko ek saath bus mein baitha diya (Ghulam Nabi Azad made the entire Haryana Congress sit in a bus),” he said. Tanwar asserted that the party felt more energised today.

Expressing happiness over the presence of all Congress leaders at the event, Hooda, head of the party’s state coordination committee for polls, said Rahul’s Haryana tour had filled the party with “new energy” and Congress would win all 10 parliamentary seats of Haryana. Hooda mainly spoke on problems faced by farmers in Haryana.

Azad praised the “unprecedented” response received for the ‘Parivartan Bus Yatra’ in Haryana and said he never expected people to wait from from 9am to midnight to hear Congress leaders. Claiming that change was imminent in Haryana, Azad said the Parivartan Yatra would culminate in the next six days, after covering all 10 parliamentary seats and around 60-70 state assembly seats of Haryana.

The yatra led by Rahul Gandhi covered three districts and three parliamentary seats, including Karnal, Kurukshetra and

Ambala

, on Friday. People of Haryana, Rahul said, work day and night in their fields, but when they ask for a loan waiver during crisis, Union finance minister Arun Jaitley says, “We have no such policy”.
