Haryana: AAP launches campaign to raise funds for polls

CHANDIGARH: On Saturday, the Haryana unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has started its fund mobilising drive, “Aap Ka Daan, Aap Ke Kaam’’, to help the party campaign during

Lok Sabha elections

. Navin Jaihind, Haryana unit chief, said that AAP will collect a minimum of Rs 10 and donor can give according to his or her paying capacity either through cheques or online transfers.


“Our volunteers will reach out to 1 lakh donors across the state to raise the funds. This is our way of functioning: We work for the public so we will contest on the donations by the public. We request every one to support us,’’ said Jaihind.

Jaihind also accused BJP of receiving crores of rupees as funds from the capitalists. “In 2017-18, political parties received Rs 1,560 crore. Out of this BJP alone got Rs 1,027 crore. One can imagine how much help this party is getting from the rich. When that is the case, they will obviously help and patronise the rich of the country,” said Jaihind.

When asked why the voters are kept guessing about an alliance between AAP and Congress, Jaihind said he too is hopeful but is not sure himself. “It is all with the high command of the two parties. I am hopeful of positive results in Haryana,” said Jaihind.
