Today, people must question Modi about mining: Congress
MARGAO
: Leader of oppositionChandrakant Kavlekar
on Tuesday urged all mining dependants in the state to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Taleigao on Wednesday in large numbers and ask him what happened to his assurance of immediate resumption of mines that he had dished out during his visit for the 2014Lok Sabha
poll campaign.“Modi had urged Goans to give BJP both Lok Sabha seats, and had promised to solve all of Goa’s problems if it came to power. Before making new promises, Modi needs to answer how much of the assurances he had given the people have been fulfilled over the last five years,” Kavlekar said.
Accusing Goa’s MPs of having failed to effectively raise the mining issue with the Centre, Kavlekar said, “Modi has all the time to tour the world, but he found no time to give an audience to the mining-affected people. And he finally met them just ahead of the elections only to say, “main dekhunga!”
Kavlekar also sought to know from the MPs why BJP failed to include the

community in the ST category as promised by them.Popular from Business
