Tiswadi to go dry for three days for Panaji bypolls

: To ensure free and fair election and orderly conduct of entire election process, the district magistrate and district election officer,

North Goa district

has ordered all the

licenced liquor shops

, bars and restaurants, in

Tiswadi taluka

are prohibited from selling or serving liquor from 6 am on May 17 till midnight of May 19.

The licensed premises having license for bar and restaurant however will be allowed to keep restaurant open for serving food only. The bar counter shall be closed, and no liquor shall be allowed to be served or sold during prohibited days.

The owners of the licensed premises having bar and restaurant shall display a board in the premises stating that “No liquor will be served on the said days and time and that only the restaurant is open for serving food”.

If any establishment is found violating this order, the license shall be cancelled, and the owner or offender shall be also liable for penal action under relevant provisions of laws in force.
