PANAJI: Hours after two-third of the MGP legislature party was merged into the BJP, Goa deputy chief minister and PWD minister Ramakrishna 'Sudin' Dhavalikar was dropped from the Cabinet. Dhavalikar said that 'splitting MGP at midnight is the biggest dacoity done by chowkidars.'
The decision was conveyed to the Governor by chief minister Pramod Sawant.
"The Governor of Goa is pleased to accept the recommendation of the Chief Minister that Ramakrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar shall cease to be a Minister in the Council of Ministers headed by the Chief Minister, with immediate effect" said Varsha Naik, Joint Secretary (General Administration), Goa Government.
After receiving the official communique, Dhavalikar vacated his office at the Ministerial Block, Porvorim.
Speaking to media persons, Dhavalikar said, "I am totally free now. Splitting MGP at midnight is the biggest dacoity done by Chowkidars."
Two member group of MGP merged the MGP legislature party in BJP in the wee hours of Wednesday, at around 2 am.
They submitted merger letter to the deputy speaker Michael Lobo who is performing the duty of speaker in the presence of chief minister Pramod Sawant, BJP state president, Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar and BJP organizing secretary Satish Dhond assembly complex at Porvorim.
