PANAJI: Aam Aadmi party chief and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will campaign in the state on April 13, ten days before the state goes to polls. Kejriwal will hold a meeting in South Goa in the morning and a rally in Mapusa constituency in the evening.
The party has fielded former senior bureaucrat of the Goa civil service cadre, Elvis Gomes, as their South Goa candidate, and former journalist Pradeep Padgaonkar as its North Goa candidate for the Lok Sabha elections.

In his affidavit, Padgaonkar declared movable assets worth of Rs 83.9 lakh, which includes his wife’s Rs 55 lakh. His immovable assets are worth Rs 45 lakh, while that of his wife stand at Rs 55 lakh. The former journalist has no criminal cases against him.
Padgaonkar, 59, a commerce graduate, worked as an accountant in a number of private companies and later as a translator-cum-newsreader at All India Radio, Panaji, working his way up as news reporter, editor and programme editor, before retiring as senior manager of a private media house. He joined AAP in 2016, and in 2017 contested his first election — the assembly polls — securing 1,330 votes. Stating that he stands a chance in the Lok Sabha polls, Padgaonkar said, “Presently AAP is the only option as people are crossing over from Congress to BJP overnight because they have been denied tickets. Wherever we go, people are talking adversely about BJP and Congress candidates,” he said.
“We are promising good education, health and power supply as well as solutions to CRZ violations, Mopa and the mining problem,” Padgaonkar said.
