Eleven election observers deployed to Goa for Lok Sabha, by polls
PANAJI: Eleven
Apart from the four general observers deployed for the North and South districts, there will be additional observers in the three constituencies where bypolls will be held -Mandrem, Mapusa and Shiroda.
Apart from the lone police officer, all the observers are women IAS and IRS officers.
Sudipta Chatterjee (IAS) and Manisha Trighatia (IAS) have been deployed as general observers for the district of North Goa and Indra Mallo (IAS) and Monalisa Goswami (IAS) for South Goa .
In the constituencies that will witness bypolls, Ruby Borah (IAS) will be in charge of Mandrem, Jineviva Kindo (IAS) in charge of Mapusa and Suchitra Sinha in charge of Shiroda.
Ila Mahendrasinh (IRS) has been deployed as expenditure observer for the constituencies of Mandrem, Pernem, Bicholim, Thivim, Mapusa, Siolim, Saligao, Calangute, Porvorim and Aldona.
Naina Soin Kapil (IRS) has been deployed as expenditure observers for the constituencies of Panaji, Taleigao, St Cruz, St Andre, Cumbharjua, Maem, Sanquelim, Poriem, Valpoi and Priol.
Similarly, Aprajita Sharrma (IP&TAFS) has been deployed as expenditure observer for the constituencies of Ponda, Shiroda, Marcaim, Mormugao, Vasco- da-Gama, Dabolim, Cortalim, Nuvem, Curtorim, Fatorda, Margao, Benaulim, Navelim, Cuncolim, Velim, Quepem, Curchorem, Sanvordem, Sanguem and Canacona.
Naveen Singla (IPS) has been deployed as a police observer for the state.
The observers will be in Goa till it goes to polls and return two days before counting day on May 23.
Around 1000 police personnel from ten central police force companies are expected to be deployed to the state that goes to polls on April 23.
