CM Pramod Sawant thanks MGP, says Sudin is a ‘leader with vision’
MARGAO: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday welcomed MGP’s decisions against withdrawing its support to the government and also not to contest the
Thanking former PWD minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar, whom he had unceremoniously dropped from the cabinet, for taking the decisions, Sawant described Dhavalikar as “a leader with a vision”.
Sawant said the BJP was way ahead of the other opponents in the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls and byelections, and exuded confidence of winning both the parliamentary seats as well as the three assembly seats with huge margins.
Referring to the “be positive” message given to the public by former chief minister Manohar Parrikar, Sawant said that the party will emerge victorious riding on the crest of the positivity wave that has enveloped the party workers.
“Our opponents have been unable to compete with us. They have found themselves in a mess even while selecting their candidates. All the development done by the government will definitely work in our favour,” Sawant said.
Stating that he has managed to streamline the administration which, he said, had suffered owing to Parrikar’s illness, Sawant said that the endeavours of his government would be to uplift the weakest section of the society.
Sawant urged the people of South Goa to judiciously assess the credentials of the candidates before casting their vote. “On one side you have (Narendra) Sawaikar who is simple and easily accessible, and who efficiently utilized his MPLAD funds, on the other you have a candidate (Congress) whom the party had dumped in the last Lok-Sabha election,” he said.
Asked whether BJP would continue with Parrikar’s ‘Mission Salcete’ to woo minorities, Sawant said the party was looking at overall development with no distinction of caste, class, religion or region
