Ajit Jogi not to contest Lok Sabha polls; his party to support BSP in Chhattisgarh

Lok sabha elections

even as BSP entered the fray in all the 11 constituencies.

Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (JCC) core committee and parliamentary board has unanimously decided that BSP, being a national party, must contest for all the 11 seats and Janta Congress will extend support to its candidates as an alliance partner, JCC state president

Amit Jogi

said in a statement.

“We will spend our energy to defeat the communal forces. Ours is a regional party and our efforts would be to defeat the BJP”, he said, adding that he said the regional party would now focus on contesting the civic elections.

JCC-BSP alliance had won seven seats in the 90 member assembly in the November last year’s assembly polls and the combine had secured nearly 14% votes. With this decision, Janta Congress founder and former chief minister
