SAD (Taksali) urges Sukhpal Khaira to filed Paramjeet Khalra as independent
Chandigarh: After withdrawing its candidate former Army chief General J J Singh (retd) from Khadoor Sahib
SAD (Taksali) president and Khadoor Sahib MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura said on Thursday, “Khaira must now accept our appeal to field Khalra as an independent candidate. Even AAP is ready to support her.” He added, “Bhagwant Mann has assured me to support Bibi if PDA fields her as independent.”
Brahmpura even organised a rally on Thursday of his party workers at village Chohla Sahib in Tarn Taran district to muster support for Khalra. “He (Khaira) must stand above the trivial political gains and should try to seek support of all like minded parties to ensure her victory. If Bibi is a nominee of PDA, some of the like-minded parties are reluctant to support her,” said Brahmpura addressing his party workers.
Khalra and General Singh both were present at the rally besides some other senior leaders of SAD (Taksali). This was the first rally organised by the SAD (Taksali) in favour of Khalra since it withdrew its nominee from the battle to support her. Brahmpura assured Khalra that his party would support her wholeheartedly. “I also urge all parties and public to build a pressure upon PDA leader to give a positive response to our appeal so that her victory could be ensured,” said Brahmpura.
