Panchkula new voters can register till April 12

PANCHKULA: Panchkula administration has set up a special control room on the ground floor of the mini-secretariat to tackle election complaints. The district commissioner (DC) also said that new voters can register till April 12 at the mini-secretariat by filling a simple form and bringing along a valid identity.
District electoral officer (DEO)-cum-DC, Balkar Singh, said that the control room will be monitored by city magistrate (CTM) Gagandeep Singh.
People can dial 1950 or the control room if they find anything suspicious in their areas.
DC Singh also said that those who have completed 18 years on or before January 1, 2019, can enrol themselves to get their voter identity cards from the election department. People can apply online on the website of Election Commission of India (ECI) or submit form number 6 to booth level officer. The voter identity cards will be issued till April 12. Young voters who do not have documents to show their age can get an attested proof from their school principal as age proof.
Elections in Haryana will be held in the sixth phase and the notification for the same will be issued on April 16 and the elections will be done on May 16. The counting will start on May 23. There are 62 sensitive polling booths in Panchkula. Of which, 50 are highly sensitive. In Kalka, 40 booths are sensitive and 27 of them are highly sensitive.
