said if PM Modi comes into power again, it will be an end of

democracy

in the country. Tewari was addressing a rally in

Mohali

and Anandpur Sahib on Sunday. “Modi is synonymous with dictatorship,” he said while addressing the gathering. He will be filing his nomination papers on April 29, he added.


Earlier on Sunday, Tewari expressed his gratitude for Rana K P Singh, for organising a road show and workers’ meeting and went on to address the rally in support of cabinet minister Balbir Singh Sidhu.

Tewari said, “There was already an undeclared emergency in the country for the last five years and god forbid

if Modi

becomes the PM again there will be total dictatorship and no democracy”.

While taking a jibe at the Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal, Tewari said “Out of the ten candidates who had contested on Akali ticket in 2014, eight had already deserted the party or declined to contest. The remaining two, Prem Singh Chandumajra and Harsimrat Kaur Badal will be chased out by the people of Anandpur Sahib and Bathinda respectively.”

While taking a dig at his arch rival, Tewari allegedly accused sitting MP and Akali-BJP candidate Prem Singh Chandumajra for letting down the constituency both inside and outside the parliament. He said, “During the last five years Sri Anandpur Sahib got just five mentions in the

Lok Sabha

that too written only, that means it did not come for discussion in the house, thanks to the callous indifference of the local MP, Chandumajra.”

“It is not only that he was found missing from the constituency, Chandumajra also failed to raise issues related to Sri Anandpur Sahib in the parliament,” he said.

Balbir Singh Sidhu said the BJP and SAD were resorting to abusive language as they have a track record of non-performance.
