addressed students’ issues like high unemployment rate, PU fee hike and also motivated the young crowd to vote for the right candidate in the Lok Sabha elections.


A huge rally was organised at the Sector 27 Ramlila ground here, where National NSUI president Neeraj Kundan was the chief guest.

Former Union minister Bansal said it was only during the BJP’s rule that youth unemployment rate in India had reached an all-time high. “The promises to provide our youth 2 crore plus jobs turned out to be another false claim, which I am sure that at least the city’s youth will not fall prey to this time,” said Bansal.

He also said youth were the pillar of society, which has the power to bring a massive change. In his speech he also criticized the way under the BJP rule

had hiked the students’ fee to compensate for its own shortage of funds. “It is government’s duty to provide education to students and not to ‘sell’ education. So, when students rightfully protested for the same, all authorities could do was punish them with brutal lathi charge.”

In the presence of Bansal and Congress president of the local unit Pardeep Chhabra, national NSUI president Neeraj Kundan talked about the five-year BJP misrule not just in Chandigarh but in the entire country. “The BJP has a government of failures with lies and fake promises as its core principles. It is only the BJP’s tenure that the percentage of youth unemployment reached an all-time high in the country,” said Kundan.
