Congress posters focus on BJP’s ‘failures’

Congress posters focus on BJP’s ‘failures’
FOCAL POINT: The party also focused on works done by Bansal
CHANDIGARH: Even as sitting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kirron Kher filed her nominations on Thursday, the social media team of Congress was busy pushing online the posters highlighting the failures of Kher’s five-year term.
The posters covered issues like fall in sanitation ranking from top position to the 20th, sharp cut in Chandigarh administration budget in the last five years and the increase in snatchings in the city.

Chandigarh Congress media coordinator Mukesh Bassi said not only did the Congress highlight unfulfilled promises of BJP, it also focused on works done by Pawan Kumar Bansal during his ter. Under Bansal, Chandigarh flourished as he had managed to get an increased budgetary allocation, said Bassi, adding it was also number one in sanitation.
Vikram Bansal, who is handling the social media campaign and the design of the posters, said the posters bring to attention how Chandigarh was at the top before 2014, and how it has fallen from grace after Kher was elected as MP. This is not the end, said the Congress social media team. Congress is also putting together a poster which will highlight top 10 failures of Kher, said the team. The poster will be officially released in a day or two, added Vikram. Calling out BJP’s false claims and promises has become the central theme of Congress’s campaign in the city. The party has used social media platforms, like Facebook and Twitter, to get the attention of people. This is confirmed by city Congress president Pardeep Chhabra, who said social media has become an important tool for the Congress to reveal the truth about the BJP.
