Chandigarh: Pawan Kumar Bansal swings into poll mode, forms cells for campaigning
CHANDIGARH: While BJP is yet to announce its candidate for Chandigarh
The former Union minister has constituted a media cell which will be headed by former councillor and Congress leader Mukesh Bassi.
Bansal claimed that he along with Bassi will finalise their media strategy in the coming days.
Sources said Bansal is in the process of forming other cells for the management of his election campaign which includes public meetings, managing election office, dealing with UT election commission and potential voters etc.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders continue to hold Facebook discussions on ‘Sachai Pe Charcha’. On Friday, former deputy mayor H S Lucky interacted with the residents through the social media platform.
Lucky said BJP fleeced the residents of Chandigarh by overcharging in the name of parking fees for a long time. “The private company in connivance with the local BJP leadership put residents in a lot of monetary trouble. Now, reducing prices just before the elections was just a gimmick,” said Lucky.
“The promise of Achhe Din was just a jumla and nothing more. The prices of essential commodities, diesel and petrol skyrocketed during the BJP’s regime. Unemployment has broken all all records,” he said.
