Astrologers can't predict results from April 11 till May 19
CHANDIGARH: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has termed prediction of results by tarot card readers and astrologers during the period when there is a ban on broadcasting exit polls as a violation of model code of conduct.

The Election Commission of India is of the view that prediction of results in any form or manner by tarot card readers and astrologers and any political analysis by any person is a violation of Section 126A. This will prevent electors of constituencies still going to polls from being influenced.
On Tuesday, a review meeting under the chairmanship of district election officer-cum-deputy commissioner Mandip Singh Brar with nodal officers to assess the election preparedness for the elections was held.
Officials discussed key issues pertaining to intensive hands-on procedural training of presiding and polling officials, polling station arrangements, static surveillance teams, flying squads, reserve teams, strengthening of manpower, procedure for formation of polling parties, status of grievance redressal through C-Vigil app, EVM management system, setting up for RO cell for nominations, registration app for disabled persons, fulfilment of official requirements of observers, printing of ballot papers, expenditure monitoring, SVEEP activities and media certification and monitoring committee.
