MOTIHARI: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday thanked the NDA government at the Centre for its generous help in building roads and bridges across the state. “The state is witnessing all-round development and has the highest growth rate in the country. Liquor ban has helped bring about a huge social change and rural women now have a voice,” Nitish said while addressing election rallies at Mehasi and Kanchhedawa in Purvi Champaran, Chhodadano in Paschim Champaran and Chiraiya in Sheohar parliamentary constituencies. All the three constituencies are going to the polls on May 12. He also launched a veiled attack on his arch rival RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi who ruled the state for 15 years and ruined it. “We got an opportunity to serve the people 13 years ago. Since then, we have been ceaselessly working to ensure rule of law and all-round development in the state,” the CM said.Addressing the election rallies, Nitish urged people to vote for the NDA candidates to strengthen the hands of PM Narendra Modi. “Narendra Modi government under the Ujjawala Yojana has given free LPG connections to poor families for the first time. A lot of other ambitious schemes for young girls, women and daily wage workers have been implemented during the NDA rule.
Please help him return to power so that our country can prosper,” he said. The CM said his government has successfully brought electricity to every household and lantern is redundant now. The government has provided electricity to agriculture fields for irrigation to boost crop production . “Our Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh has done a lot for the farmers in the field of integrated farming,” the CM added. Union minister for agriculture Radha Mohan Singh is the BJP candidate from Purvi Champaran while Sanjay Jaiswal and Rama Devi of BJP are sitting MPs from Paschim Champaran and Sheohar, respectively.
