Kanakala Narayana campaigns for Kanhaiya Kumar in Begusarai

HYDERABAD: It appears CPI national secretary Kanakala Narayana has taken it upon himself to get Kanhaiya Kumar elected to the Lok Sabha in the coming elections. The senior Left leader from Telangana kicked off a campaign in support of the former president of JNU students’ union in Begusarai constituency from where Kanhaiya is testing his luck for the first time on a CPI ticket.

Narayana went to Kanhaiya’s house at Bihat village near Barauni in Bihar and even shot a video to showcase a small house with a woman member of Kanhaiya’s family using firewood. In the video, Narayana introduces Kanhaiya’s mother and the family living in a hut. “The fight is between a ‘hutwala’ like Kanhaiya and Narendra Modi who is a ‘coatwala and ‘suitwala’. Kanhaiya represents the poor, while Modi is a chowkidar who protects corporate houses,” Narayana says in the video.

“I am particularly concentrating on Begusarai from where Kanhaiya has been fielded,” Narayana told TOI from Begusarai. Kanhaiya is pitted against senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh.
