BJP's Guwahati candidate in educational qualification row

GUWAHATI: BJP's nominee for Guwahati

Lok Sabha

seat,

Queen Oja

, has filed a fresh affidavit saying there were some "inadvertent mistakes" pertaining to her educational qualifications in her earlier affidavit that had led to a controversy in the state.

In an affidavit filed before the returning officer at

Amingaon

on April 1, Oja had mentioned that she had completed her higher secondary (HS) from Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) in 2011.

The trouble began after authorities confirmed that the institute had never offered an HS course. In her fresh affidavit, Oja said she did her matriculation from Panbazar Girls' High School in 1968 and then qualified for a BPP from KKHSOU in 2012.
