CHENNAI: Hours after the ECI announced election dates, DMK announced interviews for those who submitted applications to contest in the upcoming assembly election, from March 17 to 22.
More than 15,000 candidates expressed interest in contesting under the DMK.
According to a release from DMK, interviews will be held district-wise, and only the district secretaries concerned are allowed to attend along with the candidates.
On the first day, candidates from Puducherry and Karaikal were called for interviews.
On the final day, candidates from Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chennai, Cuddalore and Villupuram will be interviewed.
Chief minister MK Stalin is set to interview the candidates and district secretaries to "assess the ground reality in constituencies and the chances of winning".
