Now, phone flung at PM's convoy in Bengaluru; cops say accidental act

A mobile phone was hurled at PM Narendra Modi's convoy near Circle Maramma Temple in Malleswaram during his roadshow in Bengaluru on Saturday, sending police officers into a tizzy.

However, a quick spot investigation indicated that a man, standing close to the barricades with his family and recording a selfie video, had thrown a flower in excitement and the mobile got hurled along with that. The device was seized by cops, who said they would return it only after a detailed probe.

A senior officer said at least two dozen mobile phones were flung towards PM Narendra Modi's convoy during the 5.3-km roadshow between NICE Road junction on Magadi Road and Sumanahalli junction on April 29.
