Karnataka polls: Rahul Gandhi goes to cafe, travels in bus to wrap up campaign
BENGALURU: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Monday wrapped up his Karnataka campaign by visiting a coffee shop, interacting with college students, travelling in a BMTC bus and speaking with commuters in Bengaluru.
He began his day by visiting a Café Coffee Day outlet where he had a cup of coffee and spoke with guests. He then walked to a bus stop and chatted with women and college girls. Students shared with him woes of everyday life, difficulties while travelling in buses and problems plaguing the education sector. Rahul hopped onto a BMTC bus and interacted with women and other commuters.
Women passengers told him how rising prices were badly hitting their household budgets. He asked them whether they were aware of Congress’s elections promises like free travel for women in public transport and Rs 2,000 allowance for women head of every family. “In our manifesto, we have a free bus-travel scheme for women. Do you think it’s a good idea?” he said. A woman replied yes as most people use buses.
