Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at varying paces. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates collectively hold a tally of 115, with 10 seats won and leads in 105 more, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60, having won 7 and leading in 53, while NDA is at 55 with leads in 55 seats and no wins declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house if those leads hold. The party has won 11 and is leading in 168 more, giving it a tally of 179. TMC trails with a tally of 106, having won 2 and leading in 104. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. Puducherry, with its 30-seat assembly requiring 16 for a majority, sees NDA leading in enough seats to cross that mark if the current position holds. NDA has won 13 and is leading in 5 more, putting its tally at 18. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 wins and leads in 3 seats. In Kerala, UDF is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 71 in the 140-seat assembly if those leads hold. The alliance has won 68 and is leading in 19, giving it a tally of 87. LDF has won 30 and is leading in 6, with a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala.
