VIT partners with NSE Academy to launch two B Com degree programmes
CHENNAI: VIT will launch two B Com degree programmes -- banking and capital markets and financial technology -- in partnership with NSE Academy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of National Stock Exchange of India Limited.
These two programmes -- offered by the department of commerce, School of Social Sciences and Languages (SSL) at VIT -- will have skill-oriented and industry specific-elective courses as part of curriculum.
The curriculum and course contents have been designed and developed in association with NSE Academy Ltd. The academic delivery of these programmes will be jointly done by the faculty members from VIT and NSE Academy experts.
" VIT has established NSMART, an NSE-supported simulated market trading lab, to add value to these programmes. Admissions for these programmes are open from academic year 2023-24 onwards," a release from VIT said.
T Jayabarathi, registrar, VIT, signed the MoU with Abhilash Misra, CEO, NSE Academy Limited, in the presence of G Viswanathan, founder and chancellor of VIT, G V Selvam, vice-president, VIT, and Rambabu Kodali, vice-chancellor of VIT.
“The two new B Com programmes will be beneficial for students who want to enter the job market or pursue their higher studies. Students will learn stock trading, portfolio construction and risk management in a simulated environment in the NSMART lab," said Abhilash Misra, chief executive officer, NSE Academy.
