Through this recruitment drive, UPSC aims to fill 349 Assistant Commandant posts across major Central Armed Police Forces, including the Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo‑Tibetan Border Police, and Sashastra Seema Bal. The UPSC CAPF written examination is scheduled to be conducted on July 19, 2026, and will serve as the first stage of the selection process for officer-level posts in the paramilitary forces.

- CISF: 70 posts
- SSB: 53 posts
