UGC extends deadline for universities to submit SWAYAM course mapping inputs till this date: Check details
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the last date for higher education institutions (HEIs) to submit inputs for the demand-based mapping of SWAYAM online courses for the July 2026 semester.
Universities and colleges can now submit their responses through the UGC SWAYAM Mapping Portal until March 20, 2026. Institutions can provide their inputs through the official portal at eseva.ugc.ac.in/swayammapping.
In an official announcement, the commission said that the deadline for submitting inputs on the mapping portal has been extended to March 20, 2026.
Earlier, the UGC had asked institutions to review the list of courses available on the SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) platform and align them with their existing curriculum. Initially, universities were required to submit their responses by March 10.
According to the UGC, the demand-based mapping exercise will help the Ministry of Education and SWAYAM national coordinators understand the academic needs of universities and colleges.
Higher education institutions are expected to analyse their existing curriculum and identify online courses on SWAYAM that can be integrated into their academic programmes.

The UGC said that the consolidated inputs received from institutions will be shared with SWAYAM national coordinators, who will plan the course offerings for the July 2026 academic session accordingly.

- The extent to which SWAYAM courses match their current curriculum
- Credit requirements for integrating SWAYAM courses into academic programmes
- Preferred language of instruction for the courses
- Course level, such as undergraduate or postgraduate
- Subject areas where courses are required but currently not available on SWAYAM
The UGC said that the consolidated inputs received from institutions will be shared with SWAYAM national coordinators, who will plan the course offerings for the July 2026 academic session accordingly.
