PGCIL Diploma Trainee recruitment 2026: Registration ends today for 668 posts; check selection process, direct link to apply
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) will close the online registration process for Diploma Trainee and other non-executive posts today, May 11, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates who have not yet applied can submit their applications through the official PGCIL website, which is powergrid.in.
The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 668 vacancies across multiple posts in different regions of the country. The vacancies are available in both Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PGCIL.

The written examination will consist of objective-type questions related to technical or professional knowledge along with aptitude-based questions.
Application fee is Rs 300 for Diploma Trainee and Junior Officer Trainee posts and Rs 200 for Junior Technician Trainee (Survey).
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen categories are exempted from paying the application fee.

Eligibility criteria
Diploma Trainee posts
- Candidates should have a full-time three-year diploma in relevant engineering disciplines such as Electrical, Civil, or Survey from a recognised institute.
- Applicants must hold a graduate degree such as Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Business Management (BBM), or an equivalent qualification.
Junior Officer Trainee (Finance and Accounts)
- Candidates should possess Intermediate Chartered Accountant (CA) or Intermediate Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) qualification.
Junior Technician Trainee (Survey)
- Candidates must have a two-year Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate in Surveyor trade.
Age limit

Selection process
The selection process will include:
- Written test or Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Computer skill test or trade test, wherever applicable
- Pre-employment medical examination
