NPCIL recruitment 2026: Notification released for 255 Stipendiary Trainee posts, registration begins on this date
The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) has released the official notification for recruitment to the posts of Category-II Stipendiary Trainee/Technician at the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP). Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply online through the official website, NPCIL Careers, once the registration process begins.
According to the official schedule, the online application process will commence at 10 am on June 8, 2026, and will remain open till 4 pm on June 29, 2026.
This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 255 vacancies for Stipendiary Trainee/Technician posts in different trades including Plant Operator, Electrician, Fitter, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Turner, Machinist and Welder.
The recruitment has been announced under Advertisement No. NPCIL/KKNPP/HRM/01/2026.
Out of the total 255 vacancies, 136 posts are for Plant Operator, 47 for Electrician, 30 for Fitter, 15 each for Electronics Mechanic and Instrument Mechanic, five each for Turner and Machinist, and two for Welder.
For the Plant Operator post, candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Intermediate School Certificate (ISC) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured at least 50 per cent aggregate marks. English must have been studied at the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) level.
For other trades including Electrician, Fitter, Electronics Mechanic and Welder, candidates should have passed Class 10 with minimum 50 per cent marks in Science and Mathematics individually along with a two-year Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate in the relevant trade.
Candidates applying for the posts should be between 18 and 24 years of age as on June 29, 2026. Reserved category candidates will be eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India norms.
The selection process will consist of:
The computer-based examination will be conducted in Tamil, Hindi and English languages.
Selected candidates will receive a stipend of ₹20,000 per month during the first year of training and ₹22,000 per month during the second year. They will also receive a one-time book allowance of ₹3,000.
After successful completion of training, candidates may be absorbed as Technician/B in Pay Level-3 with a starting basic pay of ₹21,700. The approximate monthly emoluments, including Dearness Allowance, will be around ₹34,720.
Male candidates belonging to General, Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) and Economically Weaker Sections categories will have to pay an application fee of ₹100.
Female candidates, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Ex-servicemen, Dependents of Defence Personnel Killed in Action and NPCIL employees are exempted from payment of the application fee.
