'No accountability, no shame': Rahul Gandhi targets PM Modi over CBSE results row
Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the ongoing controversy linked to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 results, accusing him of remaining silent on the issue.
In a post on X, the Congress leader said, “There has been massive tampering in the CBSE exam results, leaving millions of children across the country and their parents in shock. And Mr Modi? As always — no answers, no accountability, no shame.”
Rahul also alleged that the company COEMPT, which was given responsibility related to the CBSE process, had earlier faced controversy in Telangana in 2019 under the name Globarena. He claimed the company’s name had changed but its “intent and nature” remained the same.
He further questioned why the contract was awarded to the company and whether rules and procedures were bypassed during the process. Rahul also asked why background checks were allegedly not carried out despite the company’s earlier controversies.
The Congress MP additionally sought answers on the alleged links between the company’s management and the Modi government.
Addressing students in his post, Rahul said their hard work and future would not be allowed to be “stolen” and demanded an independent judicial inquiry and immediate formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Several students have reported issues during the re-evaluation process. Some Class 12 students alleged that scanned answer sheets shared by CBSE did not match their handwriting, raising concerns over possible mismatches in the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
