hasn't yet come up with vacancies for a long time and the aspirants have been bearing the brunt of it.

According to official data, 14572 are the total approved posts of agriculture department on different levels, 6439 are the total vacant posts. 8132 are the total occupied seats out of which 116 posts are filled seats and post holders are in deputation and the remaining 8016 seats are occupied.

There have been several unemployed candidates who have been preparing for the longest time and have been waiting for government to come up with vacancies.

There are over 48% of higher official posts are vacant and out of the various posts grade two and grade three, there are around 41% seats have not yet been filled by any new joining.

In 2008, vacancies had been put up by the government. After a span of seven years, in 2015, the department had again come up with the jobs vacancies. However, it was due to stay order from court that the posts still have been vacant.

Former agriculture college student and candidate,

Dhanendra Kumar

has been preparing for post of roller agriculture extension officer (RAEO) from the last one decade.

Kumar who has been unemployed for a long time said, "I'm not the only one sitting unemployed and waiting for the department to come up with vacancies. While the government has been saying that they want to see agriculture department flourish, in reality they are doing nothing about it."

Kumar isn't the only one who has been eagerly waiting for job vacancies, there are thousands of other candidates who have also been waiting for vacancies.

Another final year MSc student, who was a part of the student's strike said, "Our parents have invested so much money and we have been running pillar to post for vacancies but the government is doing nothing about it."
