MCL recruitment 2026: Notification released for 667 technical and non-technical posts, apply online March 16 onwards

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has released a recruitment notification for 667 posts across technical and non-technical categories. The company is a subsidiary of Coal India Limited and operates major coal mines in Odisha. The online application process will begin on March 16, 2026, and will close on April 6, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official website. The selection will be done through a Computer Based Test (CBT). There will be no interview. MCL recruitment vacancy details and eligibility

MCL has announced a total of 667 vacancies. These include 448 posts for Mining Sirdar, 192 posts for Junior Overman, 24 posts for Surveyor, 1 post for Translator, and 2 posts for Technician (Pathology).

For Mining Sirdar, candidates must have passed Class 12 along with a valid Mining Sirdar Certificate issued by DGMS and required safety certificates.

For Junior Overman, candidates must have a Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering and a valid Overman Competency Certificate.

For Surveyor posts, candidates should have relevant qualifications in Mining or Mine Surveying along with a valid Survey Certificate.

The age limit is 18 to 30 years as on April 6, 2026. Age relaxation will be given to reserved categories as per government rules.

Application fee and selection process

Candidates belonging to the General, OBC and EWS categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs 1,180. SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, female candidates and Coal India employees are exempted from paying the fee.

The selection process will consist of a Computer Based Test. The test is expected to include objective-type questions from technical subjects, general awareness and reasoning. Final selection will be based on merit in the CBT. Details about the exam date and admit card will be announced later on the official website.
