JoSAA counselling 2026 schedule out: Registration, choice filling begins tomorrow
JEE Advanced 2026: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the counselling schedule for admission into engineering programmes for the 2026 academic session. Eligible candidates can begin the registration and choice filling process from tomorrow at 5 pm through the official JoSAA website.
The counselling process is mainly for candidates who qualified through national-level engineering entrance examinations and wish to secure admission into participating institutes across India.
JoSAA counselling will be conducted for candidates seeking admission into BTech programmes at participating institutions based on their rank, category, preferred choices, seat availability, and academic criteria.
A total of 121 institutes will participate in the counselling process. These include:

Before actual seat allotment begins, JoSAA will release Mock Seat Allocation 1 on June 8 based on choices submitted by candidates. A second mock allocation will be released later to help candidates understand possible seat outcomes and make informed decisions.
Candidates will also have the option to lock their choices during the specified window before final allocation rounds begin.
Candidates who qualify the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) will get an additional opportunity to submit AAT-specific choices starting June 7, 2026, after the result declaration for AAT.
JoSAA counselling 2026 will be held in five rounds, along with an additional round for the IIT and NIT systems where applicable. Candidates are advised to carefully complete registration, choice filling, document-related steps, and online reporting within deadlines to avoid losing admission opportunities.

- 40 Other Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs)
