The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on Friday declared the results of the CA Foundation and CA Intermediate examinations held in January 2026. Students can check their results on the official ICAI portal using their registration or roll numbers. This session, the CA Intermediate pass percentage for candidates clearing both groups together was 9.39%. Thousands of students from across India appeared for the exams.
The CA Foundation exam serves as the entry-level test for aspiring Chartered Accountants, while the Intermediate examination is the second stage of the professional course. Candidates can now download their scorecards and view subject-wise marks.
This session recorded modest pass rates for CA Intermediate students. Group 1 saw a pass percentage of 13.96%, while Group 2 had 15.54%. Candidates who cleared both groups together stood at 9.39%, indicating the challenging nature of the exams and the level of preparation required to succeed. ICAI conducts these exams twice a year, in January and July, and consistently emphasizes rigorous preparation and conceptual clarity.
The top scorers of the CA Intermediate January 2026 session have demonstrated exceptional performance across subjects including accounting, auditing, taxation, and law.
Kanhiya Lal from Ellenabad topped the exam with 508 marks, closely followed by Fathima Sheza K of Perintalmann with 504 marks, while Vanya Bansal from Faridabad secured the third rank with 498 marks. These results reflect not just high scores but also consistent preparation and understanding across all subjects.
With the results out, students are now preparing for the CA Final exams or planning their next attempt to improve scores. ICAI advises candidates to review their performance carefully, focus on weaker areas, and plan their next steps strategically. Clearing the Intermediate level remains a critical milestone on the path to becoming a Chartered Accountant.
The ICAI CA exams continue to challenge students with a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application, making success in these exams a reflection of both hard work and dedication.
