CBSE says Class 12 answer sheet application portal facing technical glitches, restoration expected soon
NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday acknowledged technical problems affecting its online application portal for obtaining scanned copies of Class 12 answer books.
In an official circular issued on May 20, 2026, the board informed stakeholders that the online application system for submitting requests to access evaluated answer sheets was “presently facing technical glitches.”
CBSE stated that a team of experts was working to resolve the issue and that the application facility was expected to become live again by 2 PM on Wednesday.
“It is informed to all stakeholders that the online application for submitting requests to obtain scanned copies of Class XII answer books is presently facing technical glitches,” the circular stated.
“A team of experts is addressing the problem, and the application is expected to be live by 02.00 PM today. We request your patience and cooperation in this regard,” the board added.
The board further said that students seeking scanned copies of answer books for grievance redressal purposes should be given priority once the portal resumes functioning.
“To ensure that students seeking scanned copies of their answer books for grievance redressal be given the priority, they are requested to avail the facility first once the application resumes,” the circular noted.
CBSE also clarified that students wishing to obtain scanned copies only for archival purposes would be allowed to do so after the current re-evaluation process concludes.
“Students who wish to obtain scanned copies for archival purposes will be provided the opportunity immediately after the current process of re-evaluation is completed,” the board said.
The board appealed for cooperation from students and stakeholders and assured that all students would receive the opportunity to access the facility in due course.
The circular was issued by CBSE Controller of Examinations Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj.
The answer sheet access process forms part of CBSE’s post-result grievance redressal mechanism for Class XII students. After obtaining scanned copies of evaluated answer books, students may choose to apply for verification of marks or re-evaluation within the notified schedule.
