BPSC 72nd CCE 2026 applications for 1,186 posts end today; direct link to apply here
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced that the application process for the 72nd Combined Preliminary Competitive Examination (CCE) 2026 will close today, May 31, 2026. Eligible candidates who have not yet applied are advised to complete the registration process through the official BPSC website before the deadline.
The recruitment drive has been released for filling 1,186 vacancies across different departments of the Bihar government. The notification was originally issued on May 5, 2026, and applications began on May 7, 2026.
The total number of vacancies was revised from 1,230 to 1,186 after the withdrawal of 44 Sugarcane Officer posts, which were moved under separate rules.

Candidates applying for BPSC 72nd CCE 2026 must have completed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised university.
Some posts have additional educational requirements. For example, candidates applying for the Financial Administrative Officer post should have an academic background in commerce, mathematics, statistics, or economics.
The age limit for general male candidates is 20 to 37 years as of August 1, 2026. Relaxation is available for women, backward classes, and SC/ST candidates as per rules.
Candidates must pay the application fee online.
Application fee is ₹100 for all categories. Candidates without Aadhaar will have to pay an additional ₹200 biometric charge.
The selection process will include three stages:
The preliminary exam will consist of 150 objective-type questions and will be conducted for 2 hours. There will be negative marking of one-third mark for each incorrect answer.
Candidates shortlisted for the main examination will be selected in a ratio of 10 times the total vacancies.
The main examination will include papers such as General Hindi, General Studies, essay, and an optional subject section.
