Bihar Board Class 12 result 2026: Check complete schedule for scrutiny, special, and compartment exams
BSEB Bihar Board 12th result 2026: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has declared the Class 12 or Intermediate examination results 2026 today, March 23, 2026, at 1:30 PM. The BSEB is now set to open the scrutiny window after declaring the Class 12 result 2026.
Students who are not satisfied with their marks can apply for scrutiny of their answer sheets from March 25 to April 2, 2026. The application process will be conducted online. The board will release detailed instructions for the process soon.
Along with this, the board has also announced the schedule for the Intermediate Special examination 2026 and Intermediate Compartment examination 2026. The application window for these exams will also remain open from March 25 to April 2, 2026.
The special exams have been conducted since 2019 to help students who missed filling out their exam forms or were unable to appear in the main examination. These exams also give students a chance to improve their marks.
Students who have failed in one or two subjects can apply for the compartment exams. This allows them to clear their failed subjects without repeating the entire academic year.
The board has set a target to declare the results of both special and compartment exams by May 31, 2026. This will help students take admission in higher education without losing a year.
Here is a simple explanation to help students understand the difference:
Scrutiny (Re-checking)
Special Exam
Compartment Exam
Students are advised to carefully check their eligibility and apply within the given dates. They should also follow only official updates from the board for accurate information.

Explained: What is scrutiny, special exam, and compartment exam?
Here is a simple explanation to help students understand the difference:
Scrutiny (Re-checking)
- This is for students who are not happy with their marks. The board rechecks the answer sheets. Marks may increase, decrease, or remain the same. No new exam is conducted.
Special Exam
- This is for students who could not appear in the main exam or missed filling the form. It gives them a second chance to take the full exam in the same year.
Compartment Exam
- This is for students who have failed in one or two subjects. They only need to appear for those specific subjects again, instead of giving all exams.
Students are advised to carefully check their eligibility and apply within the given dates. They should also follow only official updates from the board for accurate information.
