Man gets jail for beating woman

Visakhapatnam: Chief metropolitan magistrate J Padmavathi on Wednesday convicted Boni Ramaraju of Jai Bheemanagar in Arilova Colony for beating a woman with a stick. The judge sentenced the man to five-month rigorous imprisonment.The incident took place five years ago. According to senior assistant public prosecutor Mylapilli Adinarayana, the incident took place when Gurla Annapurna of Bheemnagar was cleaning fish in front of her house on October 17, 2017. Ramaraju hit the woman on head with a stick without any reason, due to which she suffered bleeding injuries. TNN
